Depending on which wedding magazine or website you read the average cost of a wedding these days is between £12,000 and £25,000. Even at its lowest estimate a wedding is not something many people can afford with their own savings and many people have to borrow money to help them afford their dream day.

A wedding loan has been designed to allow customers to borrow the money they need for their special day, and let's them take out the loan with a promise to be allowed to borrow a certain amount when the customer starts planning the wedding.

The customer will start paying money towards their wedding loan straight away, but will not pay any interest on the money they have borrowed until they actually borrow it. This is because many venues only require a deposit to start with, and don't need the full balance until a few weeks before the wedding. If a customer is planning their wedding two years before the event they could end up paying interest on a huge chunk of their loan for a period they don't need to.

The wedding loan at least guarantees them the money for when they need it and is a great way of spreading the cost of a wedding. Many wedding loan providers also allow a customer to repay some of the money from their wedding early, if they receive generous wedding presents from their wedding.

With many guests preferring to give money than gifts in the modern day, many brides and grooms are left with thousands of pounds after the wedding, and the wedding loan allows them to use that money to repay some of their loan early.
